As a New Mexico resident, you may be eligible for an energy rebate of up to $1,000 when you choose a participating contractor to install new insulation in your home’s roof, attic, or crawl space. Homes built before 1990 have an average of 4-6 inches of insulation. Homes built after 1990 typically include between 12 to 18 inches of insulation. However, you should assess your insulation needs by involving a qualified professional.

To receive an energy rebate, New Mexico homeowners must hire an eligible contractor to facilitate the insulation installation. Millers is a participating contractor and can assist statewide.

Adequate insulation in your home improves comfort while generating energy savings (i.e., reduced heating and cooling expenses). You also (i) better manage indoor humidity levels, (ii) prevent allergens and pollens from intruding on living spaces, and (iii) reduce noise pollution. Finally, depending on the R-value or number of inches of your existing insulation, you may be eligible for an energy rebate.

Insulation must be installed between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. The New Mexico Gas Company must receive rebate applications by April 30, 2025. If you are pursuing an energy rebate after March 31, 2025, please contact Millers to determine if a subsequent energy rebate program exists for New Mexico residents who plan to add new insulation.
